Disaster ready fund

The Commonwealth Government of Australia

Background

The Senate Standing Committees on Finance and Public Administration held an inquiry into the Emergency Response Fund Amendment (Disaster Ready Fund) Bill 2022. The Bill sought to create a process for spending $200m per year on natural disaster resilience and risk reduction.

Our submission

Good Ancestors made a submission explaining how catastrophic disasters are historically neglected and calling for the Bill to explicitly factor them in. You can read the full Good Ancestors submission. Submissions from other related individuals and organisations are also available on the Disaster Ready Fund Inquiry webpage.
