Background
Government announced a 2023 Defence Strategic Review, recognising that Australia's strategic environment is changing more quickly than predicted, and called for input to ensure that the defence force remains positioned to meet Australia's global and regional security challenges.
Our submission
Good Ancestors made a submission calling for Defence to focus on understanding and assessing global catastrophic risks, including nuclear war and nuclear winter, the impact of AI on nuclear risk, catastrophic climate change, engineered pathogens, and space-based threats.
